Born in 1979, Mat Whittingham is founder and CEO of the Witom Group of companies. One of 3 children from a social worker father and mother who was a midwife but was disabled when Mat was just 1 year old, Mat has aspired and achieved a significant amount in a short time.

Coming from a largely middle class background, Mat attended the grant maintained Old Swinford Hospital School in Stourbridge. Mat and his family were comparatively poor in relation to his peer group and it was this that led him to discover he wanted more from life.. Anybody who is very successful has to have a driving force and it was this that has led to Mat's desire to succeed, which coupled with his entrepreneurial spirit has helped him to where he is today.

Having achieved his GCSEs Mat went on to Halesowen College for his A levels, then onto De Montford University in Bedford to read Sports Science. After working in the financial sector for 2 years, Mat then set up on his own as a consultant. In 2006, after spotting an opportunity in vocational training, and with just £200 to his name Mat set up Affinity Training which over the next 2.5 years turned over almost £3 million.
